Treehouse STL Meetups and Rooftop Rambles

Have you ever attended a social meetup? Neither had I, until last week! There's a new networking series of events in St. Louis called Treehouse St. Louis that promotes making new connections "for social or business purposes in a positive way." Run by Wesley Hoffman, Treehouse St. Louis has held two events so far. The first one was at Atomic Cowboy in the Grove, and the second was held last Wednesday night at The Heavy Anchor on Gravois. I wasn't able to make it to the first meetup, so I made sure to stop by the second. My pal Zack came along for the ride - because who can say no to new friends and Strange Donuts? Strange Donuts sponsored the event, their co-owner Cory Smale was chatting up the crowd this night. Photos from the night were captured by Adrian Octavius Walker (and screenshot from the Treehouse Facebook page).

Surprise! In the center of the bottom right photo is my talented photographer, Miles Gaudet, bringing back the serious 1950s suave vibe. I'm always amused how blazingly bright my hair shows up in pictures, too! At the event, I bumped into friends recent and longtime, such as a few new pals from Twitter and parties, and Lauren (right side of top right photo), who I've known for nearly 7.5 years! It was an enjoyable time, and I'm really excited to keep up with all my new connections.

After Treehouse, Zack and Miles agreed to be my entourage to the rooftop at the Moonrise Hotel. Keeping the party poppin', we had some brews and Miles snapped my outfit photos!

The New Moon Room in the Moonrise Hotel is now carpeted. I have to admit that I think the pattern is pretty neat, especially how it mimics the rest of the decor. However, I do think that it's incredibly impractical. Let's take bets on how long it takes for someone to overturn a glass of pinot noir onto it, shall we? These faux-suede wedges are actually unbelievably comfortable. I kid you not, I stood in them for three hours at Treehouse, and they didn't bother my tootsies a bit. Major score!

This outfit was purposefully very maurices-heavy! I can't guarantee that I'll ever have a 100% maurices outfit because thrifted pieces are such an integral part of my wardrobe. However, sometimes I'll get pretty darn close! This pleather moto jacket is a gorgeous dark chocolate with leopard lining. I knew I had to work it into an outfit soon, and the night out at Treehouse was just warm enough to rock only a jacket.

Bangles: Thrifted. Rings: maurices. Midi Ring: Virgin Islands

Midi Ring: Thrifted. Green Baltic Amber Ring: Gift

I spied these green skinny chino pants on my district manager, Kacie, when she first visited our store last year. She had them cuffed at the ankle with another pair of maurices heels, and I loved the way that looked. I somehow missed purchasing my own size in the store, and miraculously, someone returned my size recently!

Earlier in spring, our store received quite a few blouses with super wonderful prints on them. There was a button-down that had a cloud-like pattern, but it just didn't fit me the way I would like. This one, however, is so soft and the abstract purpley-blue pattern fits my taste just fine. I have a thing for sleeves that fasten up, too.

People have asked me on multiple occasions if my necklace is a set of brass knuckles. Nope! It's just a funky vintage piece I thrifted at the Fenton Goodwill. I chose to wear a set of triangular earrings to keep up the fun geometry-heavy jewelry look.

I begged my babely boyfriend to jump out from behind the bar for a minute so Miles could snap a quick one of us together. I don't really take "selfies" with Nick, so I'm glad to have a recent photograph of us. This is what happens when you wear high heels around your boyfriend - you accidentally tower over him. Luckily, he doesn't mind at all.

Miles headed home for sleep (because he's a smart dude) while Zack and I stayed behind to hang out and have another drink. Miles managed to capture Zack in some conversation intensity. The lighting in the New Moon Room certainly makes for some great shots!

Thanks for reading, loves!
