Branson Chronicles, Pt. 1!

Hi, y'all!

I'm updating from Branson, MO! I'm here on a family roadtrip. We try to take a trip every year, and this time we stuck close to home.

Just because I'm on vacation doesn't mean that my fun style sense gets to take a holiday as well! I took most of yesterday's photos on my small digital camera, so I'm going to post today's little outfit shots first, and then update again when I am home and can access my camera's cord.

Today my family went to Silver Dollar City. I really enjoyed it! I'm a sucker for theme parks and rollercoasters and the like. I haven't been to Saint Louis' own Six Flags in a few years, so I was excited to hit some rides at SDC.

Oh, my. Time to do something with those roots...
I'm finally adding more fringe to my wardrobe! I have just a couple things that already have fringe, but when I saw this graphic tank top at work, I knew I had to snatch it up. I can already think of so many ways to style it! The red open-front cardigan wrap top is one of my favorite items in my closet, even if I don't wear it all that often. It's such a bold piece! I opted to wear it today to protect myself from sunburns and keep my tattoos covered for the most part. Plus, it was such gorgeous, breezy weather that it was actually a little cool in shady areas. The crochet shorts were actually a gift from my fellah, who picked them out all on his own for a birthday gift two years ago. I was quite impressed, I must say! The sandals are a pair you've seen before in my post HERE about visiting MOBOT

I keep a few products with me at all times to help me stay looking fresh. Two of my most-loved are the Revlon PhotoReady Translucent Powder for touch-ups on warm days like today. No one wants shiny, sweaty skin! I ADORE NYX Cosmetics. There's an Ulta right by my work and I have slowly accrued quite a large collection of NYX products from it. I'm learning to love brights, and it has been a hard battle. However, I've found a favorite product in the above lippie - NYX Matte Lipstick in Indie Flick. To amp up the color I wore it over Revlon's Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Rendezvous, which is also a tangerine-orange shade. Can you see those little beads on the lipstick in the bottom right photo? It wasn't even that hot outside today and yet my lipstick was sweating! Weird!

On my eyes, I used a matte Revlon eyeshadow in a very nude-pink, and then went for a classic cateye with Kat Von D's Tattoo Liner in Trooper. Down below you can see the lipstick in action, and the eyeliner as well.

I was really struck by the views we saw while driving to SDC. I'm not sure I'd come back to Branson for the actual funky district full of touristy things (although we did some of those yesterday and they were super fun!), but I would LOVE to drive back and camp and spend time at Table Rock Lake. I need hills and mountainous regions in my life, and everything is covered in trees. Sigh!

Have you been to Branson? What would you wear for a day riding coasters?
