Midweek Mani: NYE Neutral Sparkle

Happy New Year's Eve, y'all! I wanted to share my NYE mani with you! Every year, I feel the pressure to do something extravagant and sparkly for this, well, extravagant and generally sparkly holiday. This is the first year in a while that I haven't felt the need to go to a bar for a party (mostly because I'm single), and I also wasn't booked for a DJ gig. I'll be attending a fairly low-key house party with one of my besties, and so I wanted my nails to be complementary, yet themed. These two gorgeous, affordable shimmers are found at your local drugstore!

This gorgeous dove grey with golden shimmer is perfectly named for this day - "Prosecco!" The gold-copper chrome is called "Supernova," and both of these polishes are from Sinful Colors, which retails for about $2.99 in my area.  I am consistently surprised by the quality of these cheap polishes! I applied this mani on Tuesday night, and it's now Thursday without a single chip. "Supernova" was a bit more thick, but still very easy to clean up after application. It is just almost a chrome polish, and I have had the worst experiences with chromes, so I'm glad that "Supernova" has that look, but not the formula! I'm curious about Supernova - I found it just recently at my local Walgreens, but it appears to be completely unavailable online. I wonder if it's a reissue that hasn't become available online again just yet.

I did, for the first time, use Seche Vite's "Seche Base," which is a pearly, transparent milk color that is purported to help your polish seriously adhere to the base. I am wondering if this actually did help a bit more than my usual Seche Vite "Clear Base."

I will definitely be picking up more and more of Sinful Colors' polishes. I can't deny that the quality and application exceeds all expectations for such a low price.

Do you have many Sinful Colors polishes in your arsenal? Will you be trying them now?
