Mani Monday: Golden Evening Seduction

Here's a fun fact for today's Mani Monday: I have no idea where this China Glaze nail polish came from. Whitney, is it yours? Molly? I think it might have come home with me from a recent ladies' night! At any rate, it's a deep, deep purple called "Evening Seduction," and when I read the name on the bottle, I actually laughed out loud at home. So sultry! I knew that wearing dark polish by itself isn't quite my aesthetic, so I threw some dots on. I'm beginning to think that this little style has become a signature look for me! Maybe I should do it more often.

As is the trouble with more dark creamy polishes, "Evening Seduction" was thick and a little difficult to manipulate onto the nail bed. I applied this on my lunch break at work (hence the not-so-great photos), and I gave my digits about an hour to dry out before trying to apply the topcoat. When I went to apply my usual Seche Vite topcoat, I noticed bubbling in "Evening Seduction," but also as usual - Seche Vite smoothed them right out! That topcoat really is a miracle worker.

I don't know if you can tell - but I'm trying to get more comfortable with applying the polish really closely to my cuticles. I think that's one skill I have yet to (almost) perfect. You'll notice with many other nail polish bloggers, the polish sits up against their cuticles. It makes me so nervous trying to do that!

As for staying power, I'm quite impressed with "Evening Seduction." It's now Monday afternoon, and I have yet to sustain any super noticeable chips. Black polishes chip so easily, but this dark purple gives the appearance of being black, but has much better staying power.

Would you choose something like this over black next time?
