Makeup Monday: New "The Only 1" Lipsticks

You know I'm an absolute sucker for lip products. So when I'm hanging out somewhere and see a commercial for a lipstick that boasts it's "revolutionary" and basically the lipstick to end all lipsticks, I just have to check it out. The lippie in question is the latest release from Rimmel London UK, "The Only 1" Lipstick. The description claims that it is "the perfect balance of high impact colour, moisture, all day comfort and staying power." I recently snapped up three when I discovered I had some points to burn on my rewards card at my local Walgreens. I tried to choose colors that I would not only regularly wear, but crossed the spectrum of day/night, daily wear/fancy affairs.

Out of the three, I've worn "It's a Keeper" the most, because it's a great everyday shade. It helps me feel like I look put together, without having to put a ton of effort into my makeup. "Listen Up!" was definitely added to my collection because it shares a name with one of my favorite songs from The Gossip. You might remember me talking recently about singer Beth Ditto's new clothing line, actually! On Sunday, I wore "One-Of-A-Kind" while rollerblading with my soccer lady friends, and found that the lipstick lasted from 2-5:30 through lots of talking and laughing. After that, I had a milkshake and an appetizer, and the lipstick faded significantly around the inside of my lips. That's to be expected with eating greasy, wet foods!

My only major complaint is that the bullet is round. Especially with my larger lips, I feel that bullets with pointed tips are much easier to apply. The formula is quite pigmented, and almost is totally opaque in one swipe. It's a teensy bit slippery, though, so if you're not careful, you might have lipstick outside your lip line. Once the lipstick is on, it has a gorgeous semi-matte finish, and felt comfortable the entire time I had it on. "One-Of-A-Kind" leaves behind a bit of a stain, but I'm generally accepting of that because then I can lightly pat more lipstick on without it looking gnarly. I saw minor feathering when I got home, but I know with a lip pencil, that can be easily remedied.

Have you tried any of these new lipsticks? What's your opinion on round vs pointed bullets?
