My Lips Are Currently Loving...

I'll start this by saying I'm not really the biggest fan of liquid lipstick. I do have a few, but I usually stick to the solid tube form. However, I spied this sexy gold packaging a few weeks ago and wanted to see what it was all about. The pretty little tube I took home with me that day was L'Oreal's Extraordinaire by Colour Riche® in the color Scarlet Concerto. This product reminds me a lot of the Maybelline Color Elixir, which I only have one of. The Color Elixir seems to have more staining power for, though.

Scarlet Concerto is a pretty red, and quite true to the color visible in the little window of the bottle. It comes with a little fuzzy applicator, which can actually be difficult for me to apply. Something about having larger lips makes it difficult for me to handle some applicators, but I could just challenged!

I've seen swatches of the other colors, as well, and Caramel Solo caught my eye. For liquid, shiny colors, I personally prefer a color that's not too "in your face." However, I have found that I really like applying this lipstick over other colors to bump their intensity up a notch. One layering combo I love is to apply Scarlet Concerto on top of my Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Romantic. The stain stays just well enough to lay down a great color foundation.

I would have to say that my only complaint about the product is that unless I do layer it over another product, it tends to settle in the fine lines on my lips. This is the reason why I typically avoid liquidy products. But, with reapplication and some good rubbing together of the lips, I can usually take care of that.
