Red Velvet and Green Fringe
If you are a thrifter, you are familiar with the feeling that happens when you spy something absolutely amazing in a shop. This occurred just a few weeks ago for me while at Parsimonia on South Grand. Parsimonia is a wonderfully-curated vintage shop run by an incredibly sweet young lady named Beth. I'm always envious of her big curly hair whenever I see her, and she's such a pleasure to visit with. I was in Parsimonia for a fitting for the clothesline314 event I wrote about last week - ALL SHOW & GO GO. I walked in and spied this jacket by the fitting rooms, and I swear, this thing had a halo over it. I could read the tag - Wilson Leather - from across the store. My other leather jacket is a Wilson Leather piece. I just knew it had to be mine.
This superb little crushed red velvet dress is one of my most prized thrifted possessions. My mom and I were at a garage sale years ago, I mean, I'm talking like 7 years ago, and we found this on a rack. It is cut so perfectly and flatters my shape so well. It's hard to tell under this jacket, but forgive me because it was 30-something degrees that day. I love that it buttons all the way down the front and has long sleeves. It pairs so well with the Vogue Footwear booties I've been rocking a lot lately to help bring together that 90s chick vibe.
