And We'll Never Be Royals

This past Sunday, I had the pleasure of spending time with my new friend, Ashley. She's an awesome, sweet, and talented soul, and heads her own photography business. We have met mostly at blogging events around town, but I hadn't had the chance to get to know her until Sunday. We both live in the Tower Grove area, and both love a good patio with drinks. We met at The Royale and spent a good while chatting about anything and everything, and taking some fun photos!

I was starving, so I ordered the Missouri Burger. One of the topping options is banana peppers. Yes, PLEASE. I love those suckers. The burger was perfectly done and just the right size. As I have become a big fan of tequila more recently, and I do love a good margarita during the warmer months, so I also ordered a Cherokee St. Margarita. It was quite tasty, but I usually just take salt on my rims. This had a mixture of sugar and salt, and I was slightly confused at first. That's what I get for not reading menus closely!

Ashley noticed that my eyes, at this point in time, perfectly match my hair. That is actually not done on purpose! When I first dye it (with Manic Panic's Atomic Turquoise), it's darker. But as it fades, it passes through a period of time where it matches my eyecolor. Does that make me a unicorn yet?!

I purchased this dress from eShakti a month or so ago with a few coupon codes I'd piled. I received a velvet dress from them back in the fall to test out, but unfortunately, it didn't fit very well. What's crazy about that is that eShakti makes its items to fit YOU. They're a fully customizable clothing retailer online. I entered my measurements, but when the velvet dress arrived, it was too loose through my arms and ribcage. I mean, I know I'm at the gym, but in the two weeks it took to arrive after ordering (with time for the customization), it just didn't work out. So I thought I would give them another chance! This cotton voile is perfect for spring and summer because it breathes well. I was a bit worried about the length of it, but when I tried it on (and it fits perfectly this time!), I was pleased. I can wear it with a variety of under-things, from slips to shorts, and change the look completely.

This lil' vintage hat is originally from JC Penney, but I thrifted it. When I saw it was a size 6 3/4, I snapped it up. No one believes how small my size is, but there! Proof! It sits just right on the back of my head. The day I got it, though, my dog found it and gnawed off the feathers and stealthily removed the gorgeous yellow sating lining. What a little jerk. I caught her in action before she did further damage.

If you remember my post for What the Doost!? about accepting my legs for being athletic, you'll know I too still have insecurities here and there. I, for the first time in a very long time, am starting to get to the point where I'm fully comfortable with my body. I'm learning to love every last bit of it and how it makes me me. So, sorry, Mom, for posting those three photos. But you know what? Women wear less in public. And I'm celebrating me! Plus, c'mon, that bustier is too dang cute!
